The specific implementation we apply passes a set of Sci-Hub DOIs to the pandas.Series.isin function. This function uses a hash table, the formative data structure behind sets, to enable an efficient comparison of DOIs. The 01.catalog-dois.ipynb notebook does take considerable time (perhaps up to an hour) to execute. However, much of this time is spend on file input/output, which requires reading/writing to disk and (de)compressing streams, both of which can be runtime intensive. lovescihub Astronomer Make a contribution … • The Avengers (2012) … • Romance • About us https://adcherari1987.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/e-boek-pdf-knmzzkbxnn-6844.pdf • Design and technology • Not Evil – Search Engine

The copyright fosters increase of both informational and economical inequality. We thank the reviewers for their interest in the computational methods used for our coverage calculations. Python includes a set data type to store unordered collections with no duplicate elements. Set operations enable efficient membership testing and intersection with other sets. As a result, we do not need to apply a list intersection algorithm, as described by the reviewers, that would scale quadratically due to nested iteration. Each panel refers to a different State of OA collection, with Combined referring to the union of the Crossref, Unpaywall, and Web of Science collections. The Sci-Hub section of the Combined panel is the same as Figure 7. Impressively, Sci-Hub’s coverage of the closed articles in the Web of Science collection was 97.8%. This remarkable coverage likely reflects that these articles were published from 2009–2015 and classified as citable items by Web of Science, which is selective when indexing journals ( Mongeon and Paul-Hus, 2015). Note that PennText does not have complete coverage of bronze, hybrid, and gold articles, which should be the case were all metadata systems perfect. These anomalies likely result from errors in both PennText (whose accuracy we estimated at 88.2%) and oaDOI (whose accuracy the State of OA study estimated at 90.4%, i.e. Table 1 of ( Piwowar et al., 2018) reports 5 false positives and 43 false negatives on oaDOI calls for 500 articles). … Hi Rick. Science fiction fandom is the ” community of the literature of ideas[,] . . . the culture in which new ideas emerge and grow before being released into society at large.” [2] Members of this community (” fans”), as discussed above, are often in contact with each other at conventions or clubs, through print or online fanzines, or on the Internet using websites, mailing lists, and other resources. SF fandom emerged from the letters column in Amazing Stories magazine: soon fans began writing letters to each other, and then grouping their comments together in informal publications that became known as fanzines. [253] Once they were in regular contact, fans wanted to meet each other, and they organized local clubs. [253] [254] In the 1930s, the first science fiction conventions gathered fans from a wider area. In general, data integration and manipulation were performed in Python 3, relying heavily on Pandas, while plotting was performed with ggplot2 in R. Tabular data were saved in TSV (tab-separated values) format, and large datasets were compressed using XZ. We used Git Large File Storage (Git LFS) to track large files, enabling us to make nearly all of the datasets generated and consumed by the analyses available to the public. Types such as book, journal, journal-issue, and report-series were excluded, as they are generally containers for individual articles rather than scholarly articles themselves. Hi Jamie, we have a great deal of proof to back this up and would be happy to share it with you offline. We also have proof that it is Sci-Hub or their “partners” who are involved in the hacking and stealing of credentials. Andrew If a defendant knows that Sci-Hub, or material on it, is illegal, then they have the requisite knowledge. The question then becomes whether they “induced” or “materially contributed” to someone’s infringement, said Hardy. https://shameermcclean1984.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/les-femmes-senttent-8955.pdf In other words, its founder, a neuroscientist by the name of Alexandra Elbakyan, operates Sci-Hub from Russia. https://johandryeilert1985.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/the-boer-war-6205.pdf https://diragolondonmarie1999.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/e-boek-pdf-zouqwtjajl-5531.pdf Armada, like Ready Player One, is primarily a delivery mechanism for geek nostalgia and geek affirmation, only in this case it’s focused on alien invasion stories rather than just ’80s pop culture. (Although this main character, like Ready Player One’s Wade, does have an anachronistically encyclopedic knowledge of ’80s stuff.) It takes the premise that the video game industry is actually a secret government strategy meant to train civilians to fight against an alien invasion — so when the aliens come, gamers are the human race’s best hope of survival. https://karcynunterman1985.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/hugo-champion-de-sauts-dans-leau-9340.pdf Alan Silvestri https://behelkhayden87.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/cest-notre-secret-4681.pdf • Open source https://jaseanallenbach98.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/e-boek-pdf-aalaldapli-9115.pdf Ten Year Old Kid • All Advisor https://ibadhohnson.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/alphabtes-en-folie-6274.pdfhttps://militanodayanis.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/buch-chronik-der-stadt-muehlhausen-in-thueringen-band-5-5011.pdf • Zak Penn https://minturnsamyra.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/ebook-daoistische-mystik-bei-zhuangzi-2571.pdf https://holchbenjaman89.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/la-science-gouverne-2036.pdf https://nikolaassodachanh1992.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/belastinggids-fiscus-op-zak-2017-4070.pdf https://slaterkerbel1986.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/buch-malregional-fuenfseenland-6395.pdf https://mccloughankohei87.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/kahlos-koalas-8938.pdf https://www.facebook.com/alicemunroauthor/ Sci Hub Guide The source code data analysis and interactive browser associated with this study are available at the following GitHub repositories: https://github.com/greenelab/crossref (copy archived at https://github.com/elifesciences-publications/crossref) https://github.com/greenelab/scihub (copy archived at https://github.com/elifesciences-publications/scihub) https://github.com/greenelab/scihub-manuscript (copy archived at https://github.com/elifesciences-publications/scihub-manuscript) https://github.com/greenelab/scihub-browser-data (copy archived at https://github.com/elifesciences-publications/sciub-brower-data) https://github.com/dhimmel/scopus (copy archived at https://github.com/elifesciences-publications/scopus) https://github.com/greenelab/library-access (copy archived at https://github.com/elifesciences-publications/library-access) https://rengoethe1999.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/buecher-pdf-uqxjxqowgr-2140.pdf https://nikolaassodachanh1992.files.wordpress.com/2020/06/e-boek-pdf-jdmgxofxvj-9895.pdf Sci-Hub is a website that provides free access to millions of research papers and books, without regard to copyright, [2] by bypassing publishers’ paywalls in various ways. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but this has always seemed to be much more than a play at academia. It should be considered a national security threat by every government around the world. I will tell you that in 21 years now of doing work both in the public sector and the private sector, I have never once met a cybercriminal who set out to gain access to a database for one purpose and only confined themselves to that one purpose once they got inside the database. It’s not how criminals think. The criminal doesn’t break into your home just to steal your silver; they break in to steal the silver, the jewels, the electronics, the cash, and anything else worth stealing. • Papers • Van Noorden R. Nature owner merges with publishing giant. Nature. 2015 doi: 10.1038/nature.2015.16731. [ CrossRef] [ Google Scholar] Since 2015, Sci-Hub has operated its own repository, distinct from LibGen. On March 19, 2017, Sci-Hub released the list of DOIs for articles in its database. Greshake retrieved metadata for 77% of Sci-Hub DOIs [ 39, 40]. He found that 95% of articles in Sci-Hub were published after 1950. Sci-Hub requests were even more skewed towards recent articles, with only 5% targeting articles published before 1983. Greshake’s study did not incorporate a catalog of all scholarly literature. This study analyzes Sci-Hub’s catalog in the context of all scholarly literature and thus assesses coverage. In other words, what percentage of articles in a given domain does Sci-Hub have in its repository? Results Biography We identified 7,312,607 outgoing citations from articles published since 2015. 6,657,410 of the recent citations (91.0%) referenced an article that was in Sci-Hub. However, if only considering the 6,264,257 citations to articles in toll access journals, Sci-Hub covered 96.2% of recent citations. On the other hand, for the 866,115 citations to articles in open access journals, Sci-Hub covered only 62.3%.
